Make Up Policy

By definition, make up work is work that you do to make up an assignment that you missed due to absence from class.

When you are out, your assignment buddy will fill in a “Make up Information for Absent Students” paper for you. It will contain the information necessary for you to catch up on what you missed.

Make up Quiz or Test - ALL tests and quizzes are announced a minimum of 3 days prior to the date given. As a result if:

Absent on day announced - you can still take the quiz/test. It is your responsibility to get the assignments when you are out.

Absent the day of the review - you can still take the quiz/test since I am not introducing new material.

Absent the day of the quiz/test but present when the quiz/test was announced - you are to make up the quiz/test when you return, with the exception of extended absences.  This will be done during study.  If you do not have a study within the two day make-up period you will stay after school.  Since you are aware of the policy prior to the event, you can make arrangements ahead of time.

Make up Lab activities - All labs will be made up after school the first Tuesday* following the absence. If you do not show up for the make up lab, you will receive a zero. Made up labs will be turned in in the same amount of time given the class. If you can not make up labs after school, then do not be absent.

Exceptions: If you have study hall the same period I am running the lab with another class, you may join us.

Late Lab Reports and Graded Assignments

Any work not turned in when called for is considered late. A penalty of 30% will be taken from the assignment the first day, 50% the second. No work is accepted late after I have returned the papers to the class. Extenuating circumstances are always considered. Simply provide me with a note from a parent/guardian. The computer / printer not working is not considered an extenuating circumstance. This does not apply to 2 pt homework assignments.

**If you are in the building at any time during the school day (come in tardy or get dismissed) you are still to turn in the assignment.**
